Just outside of Walkerton you can access what is arguably one of the best biking trails in Bruce County. The Carrick Mountain Biking Tract offers a mix of hard packed gravel based and soil bases trail to accommodate skill levels from beginner to seasoned riders.  

If you like to ride fast with this trail will not disappoint! Wet or dry, this surface is always ready for riding which means 3 season use.

Get on the River!

The Saugeen River offers a  great place to paddle, canoe, kayak, fish and more. With 8 access points to choose from featuring Parks, Rest Stops, Washrooms and more, this is a must for anyone who enjoys the water.

Check out the Greenock Swamp and Schmidt Lake. The Greenock Swamp is riddled with legends; hear all about them in a guided tour or take a gander on your own. While you are there, head over to visit Schmidt Lake for some quiet time next to nature.

Walkerton is also home to a riverside walking and hiking trail featureing some amazing viewpoints of the town. Be sure to take the trek up this winding path to the covered Rotary Park Nature Lookout and soak in the scenery.
