The Saugeen Municipal Airport is the aviation hub of the region, serving Brockton, Hanover and West Grey. Located just a few kilometres east of Walkerton, you can dine at the airport restaurant while watching planes land and take off on a sunny weekend. Over 50 pilots call this airport their home base, and dozens more stop by on a regular basis to touch down, fuel up, grab a bite or head into nearby Walkerton or Hanover. Fuel can be purchased from the self-serve station 24/7, and the airport itself is accessible 365 days a year, offering two runways (north-south and east-west) with full instrument approach systems.
The airport serves as a base for flight training, sightseeing tours, air ambulance services, corporate jets and recreational pilots. Space can also be booked for special events, meetings and private functions. The airport hosts an annual "COPA for Kids" event in June and also hosted the spectacular Royal Canadian Airforce Snowbirds team for Canada's 150th anniversary in 2017. A video is available at www.Brockton.ca/airport.
You can also learn to fly or book a scenic tour, at the Saugeen Airport. Kuhl Aero Academy, a flight training facility, will soon open their doors.
