Boating & Water Sports in Walkerton & Area

Grab a paddle and get set for an adventure in Walkerton!

With the Saugeen and Teeswater rivers at your doorstep, you can ride the rapids or float down the river in an inner tube. The Saugeen has wide areas of calm sections, interspersed with mild rapids and eddies, making the route ideal for learning the basics of navigating rapid water. The river starts at Hanover Park and flows 102 kilometres through the scenic countryside before emptying into Lake Huron. Here in Walkerton, you access the river at the end of South Street and in Lobies Park.

Don’t have your own boat? You can rent one from the Saugeen River Campground just east of Walkerton, which offers canoes, kayaks, pontoons, drift boats and river tubes by the hour or day, plus a shuttle service if you want it. Joy’s Source for Sports also rents canoes and has boats and water equipment for sale. Junction 4 & 19 sells canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and fishing gear and can also book you an experienced fishing guide.
